Well summer is coming to a close which means alot more time on my hands for sewing.   Looking to create alot of new costumes and I'm trying to organize my thoughts and materials. I think I will start with a Halloween fun project.  I have always wanted to make THAT dress from Sleepy Hollow.  You know the black and white striped number? I was at fabrics r us the other day and found the perfect fabric.  Inch wide stripes in a satin.  I know its not the original size of the stripe and they probably used a taffeta, but hey for $5 a yard its a go.  Its a costume anyway and not a histori

Time to add a new entry.  I am always so busy during holidays all I want to do is get strategic during the first month and do smaller projects to keep me motivated.  I've been making cockades and reworking wigs. I have alot planned this year but the big event I'm looking forward to is the last dinner on the Titanic evening I'm attending in April. Dinner and dancing with my man in a tux.  I have a feeling its going to be like prom but with a bunch of guys running around dressed like the Monopoly banker. Even though I have not added much... I have been crazy busy as always.   Mostly sewing for friends and family now. I just finished and 18th Century inspired riding habit.  And I'm in full tilt boogie getting ready for Dickens fair in 2 weeks.  I'll probably wear my red and gold stripes, but want to make a cloak too.  That's if I finish a jacket and skirt for my friend,,, oh and hat.  And then re-tweak my little nieces bodice.  Hopefully I won't have to reinvent it!
